Brainzie Money is built so that there is almost nothing about you for us to hold. Your financial data lives in your own cloud storage — never on a server we own. This policy explains the little we do process, and why.
The short version. Your accounts, balances and history stay in your Google Drive, OneDrive, or your own Azure / Amazon S3 storage. We can't see them, sell them, or lose them — because we never hold them. The only personal data we process is your sign-in email (to verify who you are and unlock a paid plan), your payment status (handled by Stripe), and anonymous usage counts that contain nothing identifying.
Brainzie Money is operated by Brainzie Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England & Wales. We are the data controller for the limited personal data described below. You can reach us at privacy@brainzie.co.uk.
The app runs entirely in your browser, on your device. When you record balances, snapshots, accounts, goals or any other figures, they are written directly to the cloud storage you connected (Google Drive, OneDrive, Azure Blob Storage or Amazon S3). That storage is yours and is governed by your agreement with that provider.
We have no server that stores, copies or reads your financial data. We cannot retrieve it, and we cannot recover it for you if you lose access to your own cloud account — so keep that account secure.
When you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive your verified email address. We use it only to confirm who you are and to bind any paid licence to your account so it can't be shared. For paid users we store a record mapping your email to your subscription status (active / lapsed and renewal date) in Cloudflare KV. We do not receive your password or your provider account credentials.
Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Stripe handles your card details directly — we never see or store them. We receive only the fact of a successful payment and your subscription status, linked to your email.
We want to understand how many people use Brainzie Money and how much — so we can keep improving it. We do this without identifying anyone:
This data is stored in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine. It is aggregate, anonymous product-usage data — we cannot use it to single you out.
Our hosting and billing run on Cloudflare. As with any website, Cloudflare may transiently process technical request metadata (such as your IP address) to deliver the service and protect it from abuse.
We do not sell your data and never will. We rely on a small number of trusted processors purely to run the service: Google / Microsoft (sign-in and the storage you chose), Stripe (payments), and Cloudflare (hosting, subscription status, anonymous analytics). Some of these providers may process data outside the UK/EEA; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) apply.
We keep your subscription record for as long as you have an account with us, and as required to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Anonymous usage data is retained only in aggregate and contains nothing that identifies you. Your financial data is kept in your own cloud for as long as you choose — you can delete it there at any time.
Under UK GDPR and equivalent laws you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold, to object to or restrict our processing, and to data portability. Because your financial data lives in your own cloud, you already control it directly — you can view, export or delete it without us. For the limited data we hold (your email and subscription status), contact privacy@brainzie.co.uk and we'll action your request. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) or your local data protection authority.
Brainzie Money is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
