Terms & Conditions

These terms are the agreement between you and Brainzie Ltd for using Brainzie Money. We've kept them short and plain. By using the app, you agree to them.

1. Who we are

Brainzie Money is operated by Brainzie Ltd ("we", "us"), registered in England & Wales. You can reach us at hello@brainzie.co.uk.

2. What Brainzie Money is

Brainzie Money is a tool that helps you record and understand your own personal finances. It runs in your browser and stores your data in cloud storage that you connect and control. We do not provide banking, investment, tax or any other regulated service.

3. Not financial advice

Brainzie Money shows you your own figures and insights drawn from them. It does not give financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Any decision you make using the app is your own; for advice, consult a qualified professional.

4. Your account and your data

• You sign in with your own Google or Microsoft account, and your data is stored in cloud storage you control. Keeping that account secure is your responsibility.
• You're responsible for the accuracy of the figures you enter. Brainzie Money does not connect to your bank or verify your numbers.
• Because we never hold your financial data, we cannot recover it if you lose access to your own cloud. Keeping your own backups is your responsibility.
• You agree to use the app lawfully and not to misuse, disrupt or attempt to break the service.

5. Free and paid plans

Brainzie Money has a free tier and a paid subscription ("Synapse"). The free tier has limits (such as the number of accounts) shown in the app and on our pricing page. Synapse unlocks the full toolkit.

6. Payment, renewal and cancellation

• Synapse is available on two billing cadences: £24 per year, or £36 for two years (plus VAT where applicable). These are introductory prices for our first 314 members; the regular prices are £30 per year and £50 for two years. The price you sign up at is the price shown to you at checkout. Payment is handled securely by Stripe; we never see your card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (yearly or every two years, depending on the cadence you chose) unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the app's billing portal; cancellation stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
• If you are a consumer, you have the statutory right to cancel within 14 days of purchase for a refund, except where you've asked to start using paid features immediately and have done so. This does not affect your other statutory rights.

7. Availability and "as is"

We work hard to keep Brainzie Money running, but we provide it "as is" and can't guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties.

8. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data held in your own cloud, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. None of this affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

9. Intellectual property

The Brainzie Money app, brand and content are owned by Brainzie Ltd. Your financial data is, and remains, entirely yours.

10. Ending these terms

You can stop using Brainzie Money at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or misuse the service. Your data stays in your own cloud regardless.

11. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use the app means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and disputes fall to the courts of England & Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of your home country.
